Best wishes to anyone still on this list!
I have various outdoor antennae etc. to dispose of:
4 8db omni antennae and some higher gain ones, some on poles with wall
mounting brackets. Also some other poles. No charge. Generally the
cables have been cut.
Some other antennae - see if you want them if you call.

We have used Zen for a number of years now and I can recommend them

No problem with sharing and they have web and email hosting so you can
run your own WISP using them.

Sorry to read your post Richard
Us at [link] are still growing even alongside wired broadband. A
lot of our users have access to both.
If you have time to have a natter... maybe useful to both of us!
Cheers,

Some on the list may like to know this:
The Rural-WEB Internet sharing club in north Leicestershire (UK) has
decided to call it a day and will commence to wind down operations at
the end of September 2008. The main reason is the strength of the
wired competition. Members are already swapping to alternative

I hope I am not breaching any terms of use in posting this. I am not
being paid for it, anyway!
Finding ISPs in the UK who don't (in the small print, at least) say
you must not share your Internet connection with others seems still to
be a problem. While looking around we have been pointed to one that

Hi Nick,
I have looked a zeroshell but only briefly, i have ran this on VMware to
test, and i agree it looks like a possible solution , well at least for our
hotels users that do not require roaming between sites.
I'm going to have another play with this, We really would like to use wiana
still as our radius, but we have built a free radius server and may start

Hi,
Splashd is our biggest embarassment and failures are frequent as
pointed out many times on this forum.
I have to tell my customers to go and put the teapot on while splash
restarts after 10-15 mins or so.
Quorvos say they have it fixed but you might want to check this with
someone who is using it on this forum ie Steve Ward at Austwick Mesh.

Hi all
Does anyone have any details on running chillspot on LW nodes, We are
sick of splash down and are looking to solve the issue by ether
changing to another type of system or getting chillispot to work, I
prefer he later as we have spent so much time and money building our
network and integrating all of our billing systems.

Hi,
I presume you are talking about the original Meraki Mini (or the
original Meraki Outdoor Mini, which is the same inside). I can't help
with adding applications to the Meraki firmware but the best approach
to flashing to the Open-Mesh combination of OpenWRT (plus Batman and
Robin) seems to be as described by William Rickman here:

Hi everybody!!
I'm new on the group. I've heard about it in meraki forums and I am
really interest on every website or forum where I can get info about
them. Of course, I will contribute in everything I can.
First of all, excuse me because I'm also more or less new in meraki
world, and I'm not sure if this is an old topic.

Hi RobD & all!!
Welcome Rob,
I as well started with Locustworld MeshAP many years ago and been frustrated
with its lack of development. We still have over a 100 MeshAp pro nodes up
and running as community not for profit networks and also many meraki...
However as you must know, Meraki did the dirty on many of us and hence we

Hi Rod,
Many of us are dedicated practioners and only partly technical as
there are many parts to making a succesful community broadband
project. South Witham is a good example that has survived and
flourishes in a '3or4 play' world where broadband comes bundled 'free'
in that they created 'value added' through service to their
