Mesh Networks
If open-source is fueling the communications market perhaps it can do the same for mesh networking technology. Meshcom has recently announced the availability of its OpenAP Firmware which is targeted at companies interested in its Meshdriver technology.
Meshcom OpenAP Firmware is built on top of OpenWRT open-source project and is available initially for Linksys WRT54GL Linux Access Points. Meshcom OpenAP Firmware offers standard Wi-Fi networking advantages with mesh networking features such as network self-healing, self-configuring and dynamic routing.
You can read more about the announcement here or if you must, you can read the official grammar-challenged release from the company’s site.
