Philadelphia, PA (WiredPRNews.com) It began as a simple proposition: “Sure, everyone is on Facebook, but how many are happy with the experience?” As it turns out, not many. Among them, INCLIQ founders, both enterprise software architects, who set out to create a solution.

“We wanted to create a platform that would restore public trust in social networking.”, says Zach Nelson, CEO, “The problem with online privacy in social networks is that you rely on a third-party to store and transmit your information. You wouldn’t ask a stranger to relay a message to a friend, but that’s essentially what happens when you post online.”

To solve the problem, INCLIQ flips the scenario on its head. With typical social networks, users post information to a centralized group of web servers, but with INCLIQ the information flows to each of the user’s peers directly instead.

“By utilizing a secure peer-to-peer mesh network, private user information like status updates, photos, and chats is never transmitted to our servers.” says Jess Chadwick, CTO, “Users can be just as connected as they are on Facebook, but without the middleman. This means there are no targeted advertisements or spam based on what you say or what you do.”

But removing the middleman doesn’t mean sacrificing user experience. INCLIQ works right in the users’ favorite web browser and the interface is customizable. “Besides lack of privacy, the biggest criticism of traditional social networks is the user interface which tends to be clunky and cluttered despite efforts to streamline it.” says Zach, “With INCLIQ, we give you a great user experience and the freedom to customize it to your tastes.”

INCLIQ began accepting reservations for the private beta in March 2011 after months of work in stealth mode. “Thousands of people have signed up for the beta based on our pledge alone - we really do respect your privacy.” says Jess.

Users can sign-up for the beta at incliq.com through April at which point INCLIQ will become invite-only until launch later this year.
